‘Cult Of The Lamb’ announces metal EP featuring While She Sleeps, Trivium and Polyphia

‘Hymns Of The Unholy’ gives the original score a ferocious reworking

Cult Of The Lamb has confirmed a new metal EP, featuring members of Trivium, Polyphia and While She Sleeps.

Cult Of The Lamb’s soundtrack was created by River Boy and is a chirpy, charming affair with only a hint of menace. However the ‘Hymns Of The Unholy’ EP looks set to change all that.

Featuring six reworked tracks, the record has been made in collaboration with a number of metal legends. Trivium’s Matt Heafy, former Killswitch Engage vocalist Howard Jones and While She Sleep’s Sean Long are all involved in the project, as are Malevolence’s Josh Bains, ex-Monuments’ Mike Meylan, Animals As Leader’s Javier Reyes and Scott LePage and Clay Gober from Polyphia.

Fans can get a taste of the first track ‘Cult’, featuring Howard Jones, PoScott LePage and Mike Malyan, below.

Speaking about the project Jay Armstrong, co-founder of Cult Of The Lambs’ developer Massive Monster, said: “We’re huge fans of metal music and know there’s a lot of metalheads in the Cult Of The Lamb community too. There’s a natural link between the game’s themes and heavy metal music [so] why not get some G.O.A.T.s from the world of metal to transform River Boy’s iconic melodies into heavy metal slammers? All the artists featured on this release have given 100% commitment to this project, and we couldn’t be more grateful for their support.”

Trivium’s Matt Heafy added: “Video games have always been an important part of my life, so it’s been amazing to work with the Massive Monster team and turn Cult Of The Lamb‘s iconic soundtrack into a metal album. There’s such a natural link between video games, heavy metal and the game’s themes that a collaboration like this just makes sense.

“I hope fans of the game have as much fun listening to this as I did writing and performing my parts, and I hope the metal community and anyone who might not have played Cult Of The Lamb before embraces this as a standalone album and checks out the game!”

‘Hymns Of The Unholy’ will hit streaming services on October 28 and can be pre-saved here. A vinyl version of the record is available to pre-order here.
